Carnival Of Masks

Aveda did a fundraiser event and had the students prepare models for a fashion show.  I was in a group with Tori Jensen, Graham Nation, and Graham's girlfriend Lara.  It was hard to get everything organized because Tori just had surgery on her tummy and Graham switched over to a different class that worked better with his schedule but we did well with what we had.  I'm satisfied with how our model turned out but I know we could have done better.  It just ended up looking messy.  Here is telise, our wonderful model:

Denver Academy of Make-up!

This week was my make up program that I have been waiting for since I enrolled in Aveda. It was soooo incredible. I learned so much and feel much more confident about becoming a make-up artist. We also got a super sweet kit. Awesome Awesome week. Here are some pictures:

We had another straight guy in my class.  How interesting is that.  I got paired with him on day 3 and HAD to take a picture of his feminine make up.  :)

This I just thought was cool.  Rudy Miles (the educator) was demo-ing a conceptual design for us and his pigment fell on the ground and it looked like this

This is the concept he was showing us.  VERY inspiring.

Here is my string concept that i used for my photo shoot.  I LOVED it.  I'm so happy with how it turned out.  It all came together so well.

I loved photoshoot day.  It was such a satisfying feeling to have my work be displayed like that.  It is making me second guess wanting to go into fashion merchandising because I loved doing the make-up work so much more than I think I would with just directing the photo shoot.

I also couldn't have asked for a better model.  Her face spoke to me so much.  As soon as I saw her I was instantly drawn to her edgy look.  Thanks ALX.  (By the way, she's been in 303 Fashion Magazine AND goes to Aveda so she's just awesome all around).  Ahhhhh.  Such a good feeling.
